WhatScriby ("we", "us", or "the app") turns shared voice notes and audio into text transcripts and short summaries. This Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information in simple, clear language.
When you share a voice note or audio file to WhatScriby, the app sends that audio to the WhatScriby backend (hosted on Google Cloud Run) so it can be transcribed and summarized. The audio is processed only to create your transcript and summary and to return the result to your device. We do not use your audio to build advertising profiles.
To produce transcripts and summaries, our backend uses trusted third-party AI services:
Your audio and text are sent to these services only to perform the requested transcription and summary. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
We may process basic technical information such as request time, app version, processing status, error logs, and performance information to operate, secure, and improve the service. We do not intentionally log your full audio, transcript, or summary for advertising purposes.
Your transcripts, summaries, and history are stored locally on your device. We do not keep a copy of your transcript history on our servers for you to browse. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, that local history is removed from your device.
WhatScriby offers a free allowance and paid subscription plans. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Google Play Billing and managed through RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your card or bank details; those are handled by Google Play. RevenueCat helps us confirm which plan is active on your device.
We do not sell your personal data, audio, transcripts, or summaries to anyone.
WhatScriby does not show ads and does not use your data for advertising.
Transcripts and summaries are generated automatically by AI. They may contain errors, miss words, or misread names, numbers, or languages. Please review important details yourself and do not rely on WhatScriby output for critical decisions.
Because your history is stored on your device, you can delete individual results or clear the app's data at any time from your phone. If you have a privacy question, want help, or want to make a data or deletion request related to processing, contact us at:
WhatScriby is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. Please do not use the app if you are not permitted to under your local laws.
